Urea solution 40% AUS40

A reagent for NOx reduction in flue-gas denitrification installations and marine engines. Delivered in IBC containers and by tanker across Poland.

How it differs from AdBlue®

It is the same raw material at a different concentration and under a different standard. The difference is not cosmetic — an installation designed for one solution will not accept the other.

Delivery forms and volumes

The minimum delivery is one 1,000 L IBC container. In practice most industrial and port customers take the solution by tanker — with continuous operation it is the only way to make sure the reagent never runs out mid-cycle.

Industrial applications

AUS40 is the reagent in flue-gas denitrification systems — both catalytic (SCR) and non-catalytic (SNCR). Injected into the flue-gas stream, it breaks nitrogen oxides down into nitrogen and water vapour.

Installations of this kind operate in, among others:

  • power and CHP plants
  • waste incineration plants
  • cement plants
  • glassworks
  • refineries and chemical plants
  • industrial boiler houses and stationary engines

Everywhere NOx emission limits force the use of a reagent with repeatable parameters — and a supply interruption means breaching the permit, not just downtime.

What parameters to require

In industrial applications there is no single standard for urea solution — requirements follow the denitrification installation's documentation or the plant's internal specification. That is why every delivery comes with the batch parameters, and we match the solution to the specification you provide.

Storing AUS40

This is where the difference from AdBlue® is greatest, and worth knowing before the first winter. The 40% solution starts crystallising at around 0°C, not at −11.5°C like AdBlue. In practice the tank and transfer lines must be heated or insulated if the installation operates outdoors.

  • Storage temperature: 0°C to 25°C. Below zero the solution begins to crystallise.
  • Crystallisation does not destroy the product — after re-dissolving it has the same parameters. The problem is availability at the moment the installation needs it.
  • Freezing expands the solution — tanks and containers are never filled to the brim.
  • Above 30°C and in direct sunlight urea decomposes faster.
  • Equipment dedicated to urea solution only — stainless steel or plastics approved by the installation's manufacturer.

If you are planning an outdoor tank, mention it in your enquiry — we will advise what to prepare so the reagent stays available in freezing weather.

Marine applications

In shipping the situation differs from industry, because a dedicated standard exists. AUS40 feeds the SCR systems of main and auxiliary engines and of marine boilers, and its parameters are set out in ISO 18611 — a standard written exclusively for marine use: part one defines the quality requirements, part three the rules of handling, transport and storage.

Demand is driven by NOx emission limits for ships, which in designated emission-control areas require reductions unattainable without an SCR system.

Who this offer is for

For plants operating flue-gas denitrification installations and for operators of vessels.

We prepare each quotation for the specific installation — taking into account the required concentration, delivery form, and the size and frequency of off-takes.

With continuous consumption we agree a fixed delivery schedule, so the reagent never runs out while the installation is running.
