What is AdBlue®
-a bit of technical knowledge
AdBlue® is a 32,5% aqueous urea solution of high purity. Used due to strict flue gas emission standards, the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology involves injecting the fluid directly into a specially modified part of the vehicle’s exhaust. This begins a chemical reaction which removes the polluting oxides of nitrogen (NOx), converting them into harmless water and nitrogen..
AdBlue® IS NOT A FUEL ADDITIVE! It is poured through separate filling units in vehicles.

Why do we use AdBlue®?
Due to the concerns about the natural environment, the European Union has introduced limitations regarding the flue gas emissions. The current (since 2014) EURO 6 standard has dramatically limited the allowed flue gas emissions, including nitrogen oxides (NOx), from 180 mg/km (EURO 5) to the level of 80 mg/km. Owing to the use of AdBlue®, it is possible to purify flue gas and reduce the emissions of nitrogen oxides to the levels meeting new European standards.
AdBlue® – advantages of use
The main benefit involves the authorisation of a vehicle for placing in service based on meeting the criteria of nitrogen oxide emissions.
However, there are more advantages:
LOWER FUEL CONSUMPTION
(by about 3 to 5%)
LOWER ROAD CHARGES
(lower rates
per kilometer travelled
in the viaTOLL system)
INCREASED RESELL VALUE
(Vehicles that do not comply with EURO 6 standard cannot be registered)
AdBlue® helps to maintain, or even EXTEND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE PERIODS

Companies that use AdBlue® help to reduce flue gas emissions and show their concern about the natural environment (PROECOLOGICAL AND ADVERTISING value)
